Red Raspberry Counselling

Counselling rooted in compassion and strength.

With over 20 years of experience supporting individuals and families, I bring a deep commitment to communities across the North. My practice is grounded in perinatal mental health, trauma therapy, and grief support, while also offering counselling for adolescents, LGBTQ+ clients, Indigenous families, and older adults who reside anywhere in Ontario. Wherever you are in life’s transitions, you don’t have to walk alone.

Counselling & Psychotherapy

I draw on a range of evidence-based, trauma-informed, and decolonial approaches, while honouring cultural, community, and lived experience in healing. I integrate a variety of modalities so we can find the approaches that best meet your needs.

Narrative Therapy

Our stories shape how we understand ourselves and our experiences—and sometimes they can feel limiting, painful, or defined by outside forces. Through conversation and reflection, using narrative therapy tools and approaches, I support people in exploring, re-telling, and re-authoring their stories in ways that highlight resilience, values, and possibilities.

The Rewind Technique

The Rewind Technique is a gentle, effective, imagery-based approach for processing trauma, including reproductive and birth trauma. Unlike some trauma therapies, it does not require you to share your story in detail. Instead, it uses guided imagery to help the brain reprocess distressing memories in a safe way, reducing the emotional intensity connected to them. I hold a certificate in the Rewind Technique and offer it as part of trauma-focused therapy, always at a pace that feels safe and respectful for you.

Somatic & Embodied Practices

Our bodies often carry the effects of stress and trauma, even when words are hard to find. Somatic and embodied practices gently bring awareness to the body, using breath, movement, and grounding techniques to support regulation and healing. This approach can help release tension, restore a sense of safety, and reconnect you with your body’s wisdom. I have training in somatic work and continue to deepen my learning in this area, integrating these practices in a safe and supportive way.

Polyvagal Theory & Regulation

Our nervous system plays a central role in how safe, connected, or overwhelmed we feel. Drawing on polyvagal theory, we work together to understand your body’s stress responses and develop tools for co-regulation (finding safety and calm in connection with others) and self-regulation (building internal balance). Together, we practice simple strategies—such as grounding, breathwork, and gentle awareness—that support resilience, safety, and a stronger sense of connection.

Perinatal Mental Health/Reproductive Trauma

Pregnancy, birth, loss, and the postpartum period can stir up a wide range of emotions—joy, grief, overwhelm, or even trauma. If you’ve experienced a difficult birth, pregnancy or infant loss, or reproductive trauma, you don’t have to carry it alone. In our work together, we can gently explore your experience to help you process what you’ve been through, restore a sense of safety, and reconnect with your strengths. I bring training in Birth and Reproductive Trauma and over 20 years of experience supporting individuals and families through life’s most tender transitions.
